chinese adoptee collective (cac) is thrilled to present “FAMILY” - first, found, and future - the 2nd closed* conference for people adopted from china, to take place may 22-25 2026 at the asian arts initiative in person (free digital conference to be published afterward). swipe for faq > 





chinese adoptee collective presents “FAMILY” - first, found, and future - the second closed* conference for people adopted from china ::

  •     who :: people (18 yo+) adopted from china
  •     when :: may 22-25, 2026 
  •     where :: in person at asian arts initiative, 1219 vine st, chinatown, philadelphia, pa 19107 (free digital conference to be published afterward - see “collective gems <3” google map for local community recs!)
  •     how :: 100% grassroots volunteer and community organized. learn more about our virtual fundraiser to help offset conference costs here
  •     cost :: pay what you can/no one turned away for lack of funds (pwyc/notaflof), our registration form has a sliding scale for attendees

if cost is a barrier to attendance, apply for our micro grant! micro grants can help off set the cost of transportation, lodgings, and/or registration fees. at this time the micro grants form is still taking submissions. if you need assistance offsetting the cost of registration, cost of travel, and/or cost of lodgings, please visit the micro grants form link (closes jan 31) 🔗 we will do our best to accommodate as many folks as possible and will be in touch with those who submitted their application either way by feb 1 2026.

know before you go


the space ::
  • asian arts initiative :: 2 gender neutral restrooms per floor, fully ada accessible, one elevator, 25 stairs per floor (3 floors)

public safety ::
  • masks and a negative rapid test required and provided for free 
  • hand sanitizer encouraged, provided, and free 
  • stay home if you are feeling sick!!

what to bring ::
  • suggestions :: pen, journal, water and snacks
  • all food and drink is pay-your-own-way / on-your-own (see “collective gems <3” google map for community reccs!)

travel ::
  • approx 20 min/$50 rideshare from airport
  • approx 45 min/$7 train from airport (septa.org for more info)

lodgings :: 
  • for conference attendees looking to book accommodations, we have secured a hotel block and coupon code for nearby hotels. in order to respect the privacy of attendees, we are not publicly sharing the names of the hotels. please refer to your email confirmation or reach out to us via email at chineseadopteecollective@gmail.com to learn more.
